Project Overview
A salt processing company in Kenya primarily engages in the refining and processing of industrial and table salt. Salt drying is a critical stage in the production process, requiring extremely high standards for hot air temperature stability, cleanliness, and equipment corrosion resistance. The enterprise’s existing drying equipment suffered from issues such as unstable heat supply, severe corrosion of heat exchangers, and significant fluctuations in salt moisture content, which directly affected the quality and production capacity of the finished salt. To address these challenges, the enterprise conducted extensive research and ultimately chose to partner with Huanuo Boiler to introduce a 3.2 million kcal hot air furnace equipped with a drying system.

Solution
Tailored to the specific process requirements of salt drying, Huano Boiler’s technical team provided the company with a customized 3.2 million kcal hot-air furnace, along with a high-efficiency dryer and a weighing and conveying system:

The combustion chamber and heat exchanger feature a separate structure, completely isolating flue gas from clean hot air. This prevents secondary contamination of the salt by impurities and harmful components in the flue gas at the source, ensuring the finished salt meets food-grade hygiene standards. Additionally, the separate structure facilitates daily inspection and maintenance, significantly extending the equipment’s service life.
To address the industry challenge of corrosion in high-salt environments, the high-temperature sections of the heat exchanger and critical components are constructed from 310 stainless steel. This material offers excellent resistance to high temperatures and chloride ion corrosion, enabling long-term, stable operation even under harsh conditions of high temperature and high salinity, thereby significantly reducing maintenance frequency and replacement costs.
The dryer’s conveyor belt is equipped with an intelligent weighing system that monitors material throughput in real time, enabling precise feeding and automatic adjustment. This ensures even material distribution and consistent drying throughout the process, resulting in a stable and controllable moisture content in the finished salt.
The 3.2 million kcal hot-air furnace provides ample heat with minimal temperature fluctuations, meeting the demands of large-scale continuous drying. The furnace’s optimized design ensures high thermal efficiency, effectively reducing fuel consumption and enabling energy-efficient operation.
